- She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar
Last week I felt like I went a little overboard with my "Mission Possible" spending, but I made a good start at replenishing my badly-deplete stockpile. So far this week I've been a little more sensible, and I still managed to find some good deals and stock up on some goodies.
Walgreens--$3.97 net OOP
My first stop was Walgreens, and this is what I bought:
1 Lipton Pure Leaf tea, $1.69, on sale $.99, this generates a $.99 RR (Register Reward), making this net of FREE
5 Caress Daily Silk Bars, $1.29 each, on sale $5/5, I had 3 $1.25 MQs, making these $.25 each
2 Dial Body Wash, $3.99 each, on sale 2/$7, less $2/2 MQ, or $5, this generates a $2 RR, making this net of $1.50 each
2 Herbal Essence shampoos, $3.79 each, on sale $2.99, less $3/2 MQ (this is a Clairol coupon--it shows pictures of haircolor, but the coupon is off of any Clairol product, and works for Clairol brand shampoos, as well), making these $1.49 each, and it also added 1000 points to my balance rewards points
2 Dentek Floss Picks, $2.99 each, on sale B1G1, less 2 $1 MQs, $.99/2 or $.50 each
1 Colgate Sensitive toothpaste, $4.79, on sale $3.49, less $.75 MQ, or $2.74, this generates a $2.50 RR, making this net of $.24
I used a $2 RR I had left from last week, paid $11.46 cash before tax, and received $2. $.99, and $2.50 RR, plus a $2/$10 purchase coupon good for two days, making this net of $3.97 OOP
Dollar General, $4.65 OOP
My next stop was Dollar General, and this is what I bought:
3 Double packs of Angel Soft facial tissues AND 3 4-Double Roll toilet tissue, $2.50 each, on sale B1G1--buy the facial tissue, get the toilet tissue free; less 3 $.45 MQs on the facial tissue and 3 $.50 MQs for the toilet tissue (when you have B1G1 sale, you are allowed to use a coupon for each item, including the "free" one). Making these net of around $.78 per package.
1 Reach floss, $1, less $1 MQ, making this FREE
4 Herbal Essence shampoos and conditioners, I had 2 B1G1 Free coupons and 1 $3/2 coupon. This was a big confusion. The regular price for these is $3 each, but I got these off an endcap marked $2.50 each. I should have gotten them at $.75 each if they rang up full price, $.50 each if they rang up the discounted price, somehow I ended up getting them for free. I went back into the store and told the manager that I thought I owed them $2-3 more, but she said they would have to refund everything and re-ring it, and it wasn't ringing up right anyway, so just to leave it this time. I tried, really, I did.
In the end, I paid $4.65 plus tax out-of-pocket.
Not too bad, huh?
How is your "Mission Possible" shopping going?
Until next time...
