Small Town Mission Possible--Brookshire Brothers

  • She is like the merchant's ships, she bringeth her food from afar'
  • She looketh well to the ways of her household
Ya'll know I'm still at home in my small rural hometown. Although it's harder to save money at the grocery store here, it's still do-able if you watch the sales and use coupons when you can.

This wasn't a great sale week at Brookshire Brothers, but there were a few things that I thought were worth posting about.

New York brand Texas Toast garlic bread is on sale for $2.99, B1G1 free; I found two boxes (and there were more) that had "peelies" for $.55 off. I used both coupons, making these $1.89 for two, or $.95 each

Ragu spaghetti sauce, 2/$3, or $1.50

Skinner spaghetti, $1 each

Hy-top shredded cheese, 3/$5,or $1.67 each

No-Yolks noodles--one variety was clearanced to $.89 and I had a $.75 MQ coupon, which would have made them $.14; however, the bag I got must have been slotted wrong, it rang up $1.35, making it $.60 after the coupon

Mineola Oranges/Tangelos, on sale $.99/lb. I got some of these last week, too, they are delicious, very few seeds, and what a fresh treat.

And that's the best that I see of what's on sale at Brookshire Brothers this week--this sale is good through tomorrow, so you should still have time to grab a few things if you haven't already.

Until next time...
