CVS Makes My Mission Possible

  • She is like the merchants ship, she bringeth her food (and other things!) from afar
  • She looketh well to the ways of her household

Sunday afternoon my husband made a quick trip to the store to get milk and couple of items he needed to replenish for his lunches for work, but other than that we haven't been to the store all week. Even though I clipped some coupons and matched them up to a couple of sales, it has been pouring rain all week long, so this piggy has stayed home from the market. But as with all good things, the rain finally ended, and I needed to make a quick trip to get milk--that's one thing I like about this area--milk is always on sale somewhere.

Earlier in the week I had an opportunity to participate in a survey for CVS and got a $5 ECB (extra care buck) via email for my trouble, so away I went to CVS. This is what I got:

2 Colgate Max Fresh toothpastes, on sale 2/$5.50, less two $1 MQs, or $3.50, this generates a $1 ECB when you buy two, making these $1.25 each after ECB (not bad for the large tubes)

1 gallon milk, $2.99

Total: Used my two MQs and the $5 ECB, paid $1.64 cash, and got back $1 ECB, making it $.64 net OOP.

I hope to do more "Mission Possible" shopping later this week, I'll keep you posted!

Until next time...

I buy the Sunday paper every week--it pays to buy a major metropolitan paper if you can, they always have bettr coupons in them. I also have a "junk email' account that I sign up for newsletters, etc, from manufacturers of products I use-many will have a coupon from time to time. Plus the coupons.com widget on my sidebar. Once in a blue moon I order coupons from Coupon Clippers. And I always, always, try to use the coupons when the item is on sale.

Look in my archives for July--I did a couple of posts about where I get my coupons, and one in September about how I organize them.
