Walgreens Deals, Part Two

I had a good but confusing visit to Walgreens this afternoon. I wanted to do the Coppertone Neutrashield deal again, (buy $20, get $10 in Register Rewards) and I knew I couldn't use the $10RR I got last time, or it wouldn't generate the RR again. I wanted to get at least $10 of other items to use that RR, then use their RR's and cash to pay for the Neutrashield, but something messed up somewhere! This is what I got:

Transaction 1:
Listerine and two Reach Toothbrushes, on sale 3/$9, less $3 (IPQ)internet printed coupon, or $6, this generated a $3 RR, making these 3/$3
1 Speed stick antiperspirant, on sale $2.49, less a $1.50 IPQ, or $.99, this generates a $1 RR, making this free
1 Colgate Total, on sale $2.99, less $1 MQ (manufacturer's coupon), this generates a $1 RR, making this net of $.99
3 mini-highlighters, $.19 with in-ad coupon

Transaction 2:
2 Coppertone Neutrashield, on sale $10.99, less 2 $5 IPQs, this generates $10 RR, making these net $.99 each
1 Speedstick anti-perspirant, $2.49, less $1.50 IPQ, $.99, less $1 RR, making this free
1 Colgate Total, $2.99, less $.75 MQ, or $2.24, less $1 RR, making this $1.24
3 mini highlighters, $.19 with in-ad coupon

This check out was a comedy of errors, nothing seemed to ring up the way it was marked, or generate the right RR. The toothbrushes rang up at next week's sale price, making my first transaction short from what I had figured, so I couldn't use a $10 RR from earlier in the week, I had to pay OOP. Two of my RR didn't print and required a manger to fix. On the second transaction, which I didn't catch till later, two items rang up more than they should have, and in the confusion or trying to correct the RR, the cashier forgot to scan the in-ad coupon for the highlighters for the 2nd transaction. I ended up down $.75 more than it would have, but I chalk that up to experience!

Totals: According to my register receipts, I got $55.54 in merchandise (not that I would have have paid that much!) saved $31.87, paid $23.67 OOP on both transactions, and received $13.00 in RR, so net OOP $10.67 today.

I have $23.00 in Register Rewards to use next week, so watch out, Walgreens!

Until next time...
