Mission Possible 6/28-7/04

  • She is like merchant's ships, she bringeth her food (and other things!) from afar
  • She looketh well to the ways of her household

How do you like the new icon? I did it myself, can you tell?? I know it's a bit blurry or pixelated or whatever the term is, but I don't have professional graphics software or the knowledge of how to fix it with what I have, so it is what it is! I'm just so glad to finally have something, I can't believe I didn't just bite the bullet and do this sooner.

At any rate, it's time for another Mission Possible. As we see week after week, it's not impossible to find to find deals and save money, even in this economy. Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is to take the resources we have available to us--coupons, rebates, Extra Care Bucks (ECB), Register Rewards (RR) and weekly ad circulars--to get the things our families need and can use, all while keeping our total out-of-pocket (OOP) as low as possible. We fulfill our tasks at drugstores, grocery stores, dollar stores, and wherever we can find those bargains and frugal finds that benefit our families!

My first attempt at shopping this week was disasterous. I wanted to make just a couple of really quick stops on Monday, so I decided to pull my coupons ahead of time and leave my coupon organizer at home. Then I got to the store and realized that yes, I pulled coupons, but no, I didn't put them in my purse. SO, I grabbed just a couple of B1G1 items at Publix that I didn't have coupons for, and left it at that.

The next day, I actually made it to Walgreens and back to Publix, this time with my coupons in my hot little hand.

$.65 OOP

First stop Walgreens, where I had $6 in Register Rewards from when I bought St Ives body wash a couple of weeks ago.

1 pkg Northern toilet tissue, $4.29
2 Dawn dishwashing liquid, $1.99, $.99 with in-ad coupon

Less the $6 RR, total OOP was $.65, total savings $8

$19.10 OOP

Pictured is what I bought Tuesday, the day I had my coupons with me:

5 Crystal Light tea, $3.99, B1G1, less $5 in coupons, or $1 each
4 Nature Valley Granola bars, 2/$4, less 2 $.75/2 or $1.63 each
1 Velveeta Cheese, $5.99, B1G1, or $3 each, less $1 Q, or $2
2 Ritz crackers, $3.79. B1G1, less one $1 Q, or $1.40 each
2 Ragu cheese sauce, $2.29, B1G1, or $1.15 each

Total spent, $19.10, total saved (sale and coupons combined) $32.26. The previous day (not pictured, but included bread, butter, frozen vegetables, and shredded cheese) I spent $20.21, saved $13.37, so total Publix spending was $39.31, total saved $45.63

I haven't gone to CVS yet this week, I hope to make it by there tomorrow.

How have you done on your shopping this week? Be sure to leave a comment or link to your frugal shopping posts, I love to see all of the frugal steals and deals everyone finds.

Until next time...

Looks like you got some good deals. CVS didn't have too much this week, I did better at Walgreens.
Thanks for hosting!
