Dollar General trip

I shop at Dollar General a lot when I'm at home in smalltown Lousiana--there are fewer frugal options there--but even here in Columbus, where I have many more choices, Dollar General is still my go-to store when I:

• need something that isn't on sale anywhere
• need it right away
• don't want to go to Walmart

They have low everyday prices, they still run sales, and they take coupons. What's not to like?

This week I somehow ran completely out of detergent for the dishwasher, and was starting to get low on laundry detergent, too. I bought:

2 pkgs Finish, $3 each, less two $2.50 MQ, or $.50 each

1 Gain, $6, less $1 MQ, or $5

I can't find my register receipt, so I don't have the exact amount with the tax added, but I ended up spending $6 plus tax, and saving $6.
