This week's CVS $5 Challenge
Every week Keeping the Kingdom first sponsors the CVS $5 Challenge, where you take $5 cash, and multiply using sales, coupons, and CVS Extra Care Bucks (ECB). Last week I messed up a bit, forgetting to use my ECB from the week before. This week, I rocked it!
Windex, Fantastik, and Scrubbing Bubbles were $2.50 each; I had two $2 coupons, and one $1.50, all three for $2.00 total.
Always Infinity pads, $4.99, I had a $2 coupon, total $2.99, plus it earned $1 ECB, net cost $1.99.
2 Excedrin gel caps, 20 count, for $1.99 each, I had two $2 coupons, these were net $.02 profit.
And the big money-maker this week--Just for Men Touch of Gray haircoloring, $7.99, I had a $2 coupon, net cost of $5.99, this generated a $7.99 ECB for next time. There is also a mail-in-rebate for $8 on this product, so this one item generated a $10 profit and $7.99 ECB to use next week.
Total merchandise, pre-sale price was $37.13, sale priced at $24.46; less coupons of $11.50 and $12 in ECBs from the last two weeks---Net OOP $0--I paid tax of $.81, and that is it! Plus, I have $8.99 in ECBs, and refund coming of $8.00!! My new math makes that $16.18 in profit! All for a 20-minute shopping trip and a little pre-planning.
Happy shopping,
Until next time...
